Things You Should Know About Opening an Online Account

Our Online Account opening takes about 5 minutes to complete and includes various security verifications to protect new and existing customers from identity theft and fraudulent activity. To assist you in the process, please keep the following in mind:

  • Online accounts must be personal only, with individual or joint ownership.
  • Existing customers will be asked two security questions for comparison to our current files.
  • To protect new and existing customers, various security questions are asked, including credit information spanning your lifetime, which may include information pertaining to anyone (i.e., spouses, children, siblings) with whom you have obtained credit.
  • Your prior banking history is reviewed and your SSN, Address, Phone and ID numbers are verified.
  • Additional funds may be credited to your account by visiting a branch location, mailing a deposit to Reading Co-operative Bank, 180 Haven Street, Reading, MA 01867 and/or originating an external transfer via ACH (Automated Clearing House) through the financial institution from which you would like the funds to be debited.
  • Reading Co-operative Bank recommends that you wait to initiate additional debits or credits to your account until the initial funding has been received and posted, to avoid potential charges that may result due to insufficient or unavailable funds.
