How Reading Co-operative Bank Protects your Privacy while Banking Online

Reading Co-operative Bank is committed to making your Internet Banking experience safe and secure. We've implemented the following measures to help ensure your privacy:

Username and Password

To access Reading Co-operative Bank’s Online Banking, you must visit a Reading Co-operative Bank branch office to create a unique USERNAME and PASSWORD. You may change your PASSWORD at any time.

Password “Lockout” System

To keep unauthorized individuals from accessing your account by guessing your password, we have instituted a password lockout system. Should your Password be entered incorrectly three consecutive times, your access is “locked out.”To gain access when this occurs, call Customer Service, during normal business hours at (781) 942-5000 to be unlocked.

Automatic Log-Off

If you are logged into Online Banking but do not use it for five minutes or longer, you will not be able to proceed until you log back in.

Information Encryption

We use the latest encoding technology to ensure that your private information cannot be intercepted en-route from your computer to ours. When you request information about your account(s), the request is encrypted (or coded) and sent to Reading Co-operative Bank. We decode your request, using a special key available only to us, encrypt a response, and then transfer the requested information back to you. Once you receive the information, it is decoded so that you can read it.

Additional Security Measures

In addition to the all of these safeguards, sophisticated firewalls (highly secure technologies that do not let others into our system) and an authentication process ensure that only authorized individuals are allowed to enter our Online Banking site.

What you can do

While Reading Co-operative Bank works hard to protect your Online Banking privacy, you will also play an important role in protecting your accounts. There are a number of steps you can take to ensure that your information is protected:

• Don’t reveal your Username or Password to anyone; your Username and Password are designed to protect your banking information, but they will only work when you keep them private.
• Change your Password frequently.
• Remain at your computer while you are banking online; once you have finished using the site, be sure to log off.
